What's ON

Spring Selection Online Exhibition

The joys of spring are virtually here at OnFife!

We’ve got something new to inspire you to get out into the great outdoors: Spring Selection, a new online exhibition of our loveliest Spring themed paintings.

As days lengthen and hopes of greater freedom grow, it seems like the perfect moment to savour the work of artists who made their names sketching and painting outdoors. Full of bursting buds and themes of renewal and hope, Spring Selection includes paintings by some of Scotland’s best-loved artists.

There are famous names as well as some lesser-known gems: the Glasgow Boys are represented by an idyllic painting of a girl with her lambs by George Henry; there is a riot of spring flowers from E A Hornel, and some delightful doe-eyes calves by David Gauld.

At a time when our museums and galleries are not open, you can explore this wonderful collection on ArtUK. And, you can celebrate Spring with this lovely wind catcher craft using materials you’ll find around your house in the video below from the OnFife YouTube channel!

We’ll also be springing up regularly on our social with lots more, including a whole host of family-friendly ideas to help fill time at weekends and on rainy days. Join the fun on St Andrews Museum Facebook and OnFife Virtual LibrarYAY!
