Description

Heggie is given sasine to ‘the town and lands of Pittlessie the sunny and dark half with the grain mill, fulling mill, multures called sucken’ [meaning tenants of the estate are obliged to use a certain mill], and the multures of the lands of Bunzion with houses, buildings, tofts, crofts, pendicles etc and all other pertinents lying within the parish of Cults and Sheriffdom of Fife. Together with common pasture with privileges and liberties, to dig up/collect firewood, etc in Edensmuir and (?) monksmosses and with 200 (?)Fedders of lime to the said George Heggie and his tenants from the Lyme kilns upon the monte de Pitlessie for use on the said lands. The witnesses are Thomas Mackie merchant of Pitlessie, James Dall tenant, and James Donald servant of James Balfour in the burgh of Kirkcaldy, maltster
