Sunday Seminar: Ideas & Fantasies: The Development Of Dunfermline Through The 20th And Into The 21st Centuries

Dunfermline, Scotland’s ancient capital, has long been the subject of ideas and fantasies about how it should be laid out and developed. From philanthropically-financed studies by Andrew Carnegie’s trustees to children-designed models and ambitious plans and a whole lot more in between, this Sunday Seminar looks at how the layout of the town has changed over the last 120 years – for better and for worse. Drawing on rarely seen maps, sketches, photographs and films local architect Sam Foster will guide you through some incredible ideas and invite you to think about what you’d like to see changed over the next century.
