Sacred Paws - Get it Loud in Libraries
Sacred Paws are set to return to Scotland for an intimate gig at ONFife’s Rosyth Library, in collaboration with Get It Loud in Libraries and the Scottish Libraries and Information Council.
The band, made up of guitarist and lead singer Rachel Aggs and drummer Eilidh Rogers, came together to record their debut EP, 6 Songs, which was released in 2015. A unique sound that effortlessly blends post-punk with afrobeat, this ‘bewitching mix’ (The Skinny) was a first, tantalising glimpse into the band’s promising future.
The band then embarked on a UK tour in support of the album, playing alongside acts including Mogwai, Veronica Falls and Future Islands. The duo also performed a BBC 6 Music session for DJ Mark Riley and appeared at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections Festival. At the same time, Sacred Paws recorded their first LP, Strike a Match which picked up the Scottish Album of the Year award. Sacred Paws have recently announced that their new album, Run Around The Sun, will be released on 31st May 2019 – just in time for their upcoming library gig.
