Join us in our fourth OnFife Comedy Café – Online! While we can’t see live shows in person, this is the next best thing to enjoy a Friday night in with some live comedians streamed to your screen!
So, pour yourself a drink, grab some snacks, and settle down in the comfort of your own home – at only £5 per device, it certainly beats another night of Netflix!
The line-up for Friday 30 April includes some well-known and best loved names – compered by Raymond Mearns, who was described as “Exceptionally Funny and Cathartic” by The Scotsman, has been on the UK comedy circuit for years – performing at venues across the country, including very successful Fringe shows since 2011.
Then we have Gavin Webster, an English stand-up comedian whose television work includes “Never Mind The Buzzcocks”, “The Stand-up Show”, “Does Doug Know”, “Take The Mike”, “The Regionnaires”, “The Eleven O Clock show”, “The Comedy Store”, “Comedy Blue” and “The World Stand Up Tour” (Channel 9 Australia, Comedy Central USA).
In 2014 he won the award for Best UK Live Stand Up, commonly known as 'The Comedian's Comedian', the second only winner of the award after Mick Ferry won it in 2013.
His 2014, his Edinburgh Fringe show was called "Controversial Title in Order to Sell Tickets" whilst his 2016 show was entitled "Jesus Christ Is A Window Cleaner Now".
Natalie Sweeney will be on next – and has been described as 'Ayrshire's answer to satire'. She has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as part of the compilation Funny Lassies as well as several sell out shows at the Glasgow Comedy Festival as part of the group 'Three Men and a Tall Lady'. In 2018 she reached the finals of Scottish Comedian of the Year.
And finally, we will see Prince Abdi - an internationally renowned comedian, who has appeared on TV screens across the globe. A British-Somali Muslim who lives in London, Prince has built up a solid reputation as one of the circuits defining voices. He has appeared on numerous TV shows including the South African equivalent of Live At The Apollo. His career has also seen him provide tour support to iconic names like Trevor Noah, Dave Chapelle, Chris Rock & Jack Whitehall. As well as performing at festivals such as The Edinburgh Fringe & Cape Town Comedy Festival. It’s his versatile and unique story-telling that makes him a feel-good comedian – you are sure to feel good after a night of laughter with these top comedians!
How it Works
Tickets do not require printing off at home.
The event takes place in the Zoom videoconferencing app, which you should install and test at least an hour before it starts. For the best experience of the event use a laptop or desktop computer, and make sure the sound is on. Tablets or phones with the Zoom app can be used also.
After booking, you will be sent a booking confirmation and then a reminder email containing details of how to join the online event at 9am on the day of the session. Keep an eye on your inbox! And do check your junk/spam folders.
You will only be able to view the performers and will not be able to see your fellow audience members.
