For more than 125 years, the Adam Smith Theatre has been at the heart of Kirkcaldy’s cultural life. A recent major refurbishment created bright, welcoming spaces inside its historic walls — modernising facilities while keeping its much-loved character. Today, it’s a lively home for theatre, cinema, live music and community events.

Box office opens one hour before performances.

3 Blue Badge spaces in front of building. Limited on-site parking down right-hand side. Additional free parking at Kirkcaldy Galleries / Kirkcaldy train station (3 min walk).

Ramped access from main entrance to foyer, box office, Design Suite and café. Lift to upper floor (Auditorium, Beveridge Suite, The Exchange) and stair lift to lower floor (The Advantage).

4 wheelchair spaces in main auditorium. Row J is step-free — all other rows require steps. Infrared hearing system with receivers and neck loops at box office.

Accessible toilets on ground and first floor. Changing Places facility on ground level (radar key).

Guide and assistance dogs welcome.

How do I book tickets?

You can book online any time or visit a theatre box office at Adam Smith Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Lochgelly Centre or Rothes Halls.

Are concession tickets available?

Yes — concessions are available for under 16s, over 60s, full-time students, registered disabled and unemployed. Please bring proof when collecting tickets.

Is there a booking fee?

A £1.50 commission fee applies per ticket for online, phone or box office purchases. This fee does not apply to cinema, classes or courses.

Can I get a refund?

Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged unless the show is cancelled. If cancelled, you can move your booking, get a gift voucher (valid 12 months) or request a full refund.

Can I buy gift vouchers?

Yes — OnFife gift vouchers can be used across all four theatres. Buy online or at any box office.
