Located within the Adam Smith Theatre, the Design Suite is a vibrant creative hub designed to inspire all ages to explore digital, hands‑on design and creativity. A friendly, inspiring creative space offering flexible work zones, professional tools, community events, and expert support—with free and low-cost options for everyone. Whether you’re collaborating, creating, or connecting, the Design Suite helps creativity grow in the heart of Kirkcaldy.

Creative Desk & Maker Space
- Fully equipped creative workstations—PCs, Adobe Creative Cloud
- Dedicated Maker Space with access to our Laser Cutter, Mr Beam and our Flashforge Adventurer 5M 3D printers.
- The space is also ideal for working on projects where privacy and focus are needed.
- The enclosed space is perfect for tinkering, filmmaking, animation, and video games.
Relaxed Meeting Areas
- Comfortable sofas and “Egg” semi‑private pod for calls or focused work
- Meeting spaces and quiet zone for video editing or private projects

Play
The Design Suite is filled with digital design tools. Here you can play, prototype and turn your ideas into objects using our 3D printers or Mr Beam, our laser cutter.
Use our spaces
Using the free spaces to hot-desk, chill out, or meeting up with others? There’s no induction or booking needed, you’re welcome to drop in any time during our opening hours and use our free spaces.

The Design Suite is based inside the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy.
3 Blue Badge spaces in front of building. Limited on-site parking down right-hand side. Additional free parking at Kirkcaldy Galleries / Kirkcaldy train station (3 min walk).
Ramped access from main entrance to foyer, box office, Design Suite and café. Lift to upper floor (Auditorium, Beveridge Suite, The Exchange) and stair lift to lower floor (The Advantage).
4 wheelchair spaces in main auditorium. Row J is step-free — all other rows require steps. Infrared hearing system with receivers and neck loops at box office.
Accessible toilets on ground and first floor. Changing Places facility on ground level (radar key).
Guide and assistance dogs welcome.
