Museum collections
Explore the objects that shaped Fife’s story.
OnFife cares for more than 120,000 museum objects and over 1,200 artworks. Together, they tell the story of Fife from local industries and family life to global connections and major historical events.
Many items appear in our exhibitions or are on loan to museums across the UK. When objects aren’t on display, they’re stored safely in our specialist Collections Centre and can be viewed by appointment.

How to donate
Over 90% of our collections come from public donations, helping us record life in Fife. If you have an item to offer, get in touch — our team reviews donations monthly.
We follow strict guidelines, so we can’t accept unclear ownership, unsafe materials, long-term loans or unsolicited drop-offs. Archaeological finds must go to Treasure Trove Scotland first.

Loan requests
Museums, galleries and organisations can borrow objects from our collections for exhibitions. Email us with details about your venue, dates and the items you’d like to borrow. Our team will review suitability, advise on any costs and guide you through the loan process.
