Update on changes to Fife's Library Service

16 libraries were identified for closure as part of the changes to Fife’s library services. These changes will help to deliver a total savings target for the Trust £1.7m by March 2018, and will ensure the long term sustainability of essential services.

  • Thornton and Freuchie libraries closed on 31 March 2016, Bowhill and Crossgates at the end of September 2016
  • Colinsburgh, Crail, East Wemyss, Falkland, Kinghorn, Markinch, Pittenweem and Pitteuchar libraries closed at the end of February 2017
  • Glenwood, Abbeyview and Townhill libraries will close at the end of March 2017
