Self-service arrives at four OnFife libraries

Here at OnFife, we’re all about the right service for the right person at the right time. That’s why we introduced our hugely popular Libby and PressReader services, to let you catch up on your chosen reading or listening wherever and whenever you choose. We also want our libraries to be as easy to use and accessible as possible for everyone in our communities.

Four of our libraries are now offering a new self-service option to make borrowing even easier. Templehall Library in Kirkcaldy, Jennie Lee Library in Lochgelly, Duloch Library in Dunfermline and the Children’s Library at Kirkcaldy Galleries have all introduced new self-service kiosks. Customers can use them to borrow, return and renew books quickly, helping to reduce waiting times and making library visits even more convenient. The screen and scanner can be adjusted to suit wheelchair users, while also helping younger readers enjoy a little more independence when borrowing their books.

Simply scan your library card and the barcodes in your books to issue them. It’s as easy as using a supermarket self-checkout. Returning books is even easier: scan them at the kiosk, drop them in the return point and you’re all set.

As always, our friendly library staff are on hand to help if you need it. These new kiosks are just one of the ways we’re investing in modern, accessible libraries that make it easier for everyone to enjoy our services.
