What's ON

Schools Library Service

Our small, friendly and helpful Schools Library team supports pupils and teachers across Fife. We have more than 65,000 books carefully selected to support the curriculum and CPD.

Project Loans

In every academic year we put together over 4000 individual project boxes for use in schools – tailored to individual requests. Each project collection contains on average 17 books to use in the classroom for a term. Click here to complete an application form on Fife Direct. Please place your order 6 months in advance as this is an extremely popular service.

Teacher’s Collection

We have a well respected collection to support teaching staff in continuing professional development. Topics include: Autism, Bullying, Dyslexia, Psychology etc. The collection can be viewed and used in the schools library service at Auchterderran.

Schools Library Service – Deliveries

Collections are delivered to and collected from your school by the School Library Service delivery van. Requests received at short notice may miss the delivery schedule and instead can be collected from Auchterderran Centre

Public Library Resources

Children can join their local library to gain access to a range of reading and information books, books on CD, cassette and in some branches MP3s. If you can’t find what they are looking for you can also request books from any Fife branches for free. They will have access to computers, allowing them to search the internet and type up projects.

Some libraries also have regular story times, reading groups and other after school activities.
