Scan, borrow, win – new self-service kiosks launch in four OnFife Libraries
Library customers in Fife can now enjoy quicker, easier visits thanks to the introduction of new self-service kiosks in four locations – with a prize up for grabs for early users at each branch.
The kiosks, now available in the new libraries at Templehall in Kirkcaldy, Jennie Lee Library in Lochgelly, Duloch Library in Dunfermline, and Kirkcaldy Galleries Children’s Library, allow customers to borrow and return books quickly and independently, making borrowing more convenient and reducing waiting times.
At Templehall and Jennie Lee Libraries, customers can also use the kiosks to borrow books outwith library opening hours but when the Templehall Community Hub and Lochgelly Centre are still open.
To celebrate the launch, each library is having a prize draw and the first 100 users will be entered to win a bumper OnFife goodie bag.
Friendly library staff are on hand to support customers, answer questions and help anyone getting used to the technology.
The rollout is part of OnFife’s ongoing investment in modern, accessible library services designed to improve the experience for everyone who uses them.
Pamela Paton, Operations Manager (Libraries), said: “These new self-service kiosks make borrowing and returning books quicker and easier, while our staff are right there to help anyone who needs it.
“We want people to feel confident giving them a try, and with early users having the chance to win a prize in each library, there’s an added bit of fun too. It’s all part of our continued investment in making library services more accessible, flexible and convenient for our communities.”
Customers are encouraged to give the kiosks a go during their next visit – and they could even be the lucky winner at their local library.
