Teens & young adults
Our libraries are safe, friendly places where teens and young adults can discover new stories, learn new skills and connect with others. Whether you want to read, study, relax or try something creative, there’s a space for you at OnFife Libraries.
Free to join
Your Library Card
Joining the library is free and easy. With a card, you can borrow books, use computers, access online resources and take part in events.
To give our teenage readers the best possible experience, we’ve changed our Teen memberships. They are now for 12–15 year olds. 16+ readers will have an Adult Membership and will have access to all our Young Adult and Adult books.
J+ and T+ Memberships
Every reader is different, and some young people like to explore books beyond their usual age group. Junior members (under 12) can become Junior+ and borrow from our Teen collection (ages 12–15). Teen members (under 16) can become Teen+ and borrow from our Adult collection. Permission forms are available at any Fife Library or can be downloaded here.
Safe, Friendly Spaces
Our libraries are respectful, inclusive places where everyone is welcome. We support your wellbeing and aim to make every visit positive and enjoyable.

Got Ideas? We’re All Ears!
We are keen to hear from our teen customers about what events and activities you would like to see in our venues. If you are interested in joining a teen group or have suggestions for events like teen author events or online events, do let us know at You Tell Us! or via one of our social platforms.
