Helping shine a spotlight with new cinema project

Creating access to culture makes an impact and we’ve partnered with a national body to boost independent film showings in areas with little or no existing cinema provision.

For the next three years, we’ll be working with Spotlight, a UK-wide programme that takes a hyper-local approach to developing film screenings, to support film exhibitors and help increase the number of independent film screenings in the kingdom.

Fife is already home to brilliant film screenings taking place in new community cinemas, in addition to other established multi-arts venues, including the Adam Smith Theatre itself, and this will extend this to other areas.

Karen Taylor, OnFife’s Community Events and Programme Manager, said: “Spotlight is a really exciting project to be part of and we’re looking forward to working with Film Hub Scotland to develop film screenings across Fife.”

The project co-ordinator will be based at the Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy.
