Do you have a local hero who made a difference – no matter how big or small – during the pandemic? Nominate them in our new campaign to recognise Fife’s Covid heroes and they could be in line for tickets to the much-anticipated Jack Vettriano: The Early Years exhibition at Kirkcaldy Galleries this summer.
The pandemic has been an exceptionally difficult time to live through and many of our lives were made easier by the sheer kindness of others who reached out and gave a helping hand when it was needed.
OnFife wants to find these unsung heroes and is appealing to the public to put forward nominations.
Karen Taylor, OnFife Creative Instigator, said: “So many people went that extra mile during the pandemic to help others. Maybe there’s a teacher who made a big difference with home schooling, a shopkeeper who made sure vulnerable people in the community were supported, a neighbour who took your dog out when you were ill or even a colleague who you saw doing more than they needed to – heroes were all around us during lockdown.
“If you know a special someone, please get in touch so we can let them know they’re appreciated and offer them a nice reward.’’
Jack Vettriano: The Early Years is at Kirkcaldy Galleries from 17 June-23 October and is a celebration of the Fife artist’s work from his earliest years. Alongside his iconic works will be a selection of paintings signed under the name Jack Hoggan which have never previously been exhibited. To make a nomination all you have to do is email events@onfife.com and tell us who your local hero is and why. Please also give us a telephone number so we can contact you.
Each person picked as a local hero will receive two tickets for the exhibition on selected days.
