Sharing a love of music through volunteering
Hello! I’m Chloe, and I volunteer with the We Make Music Instrument Library at Jennie Lee Library in Lochgelly Centre.
The library loans out musical instruments, giving people the chance to try something new, build confidence, and explore their love of music.
Volunteering here lets me share my passion for music while spending time with a really lovely group of like‑minded people. Although I live in Falkirk – where we have our own instrument library – I wanted to volunteer in Fife because the opportunities here have allowed me to use what I learned through my music degree to support others and encourage them to get playing.
One of the most rewarding parts of volunteering is seeing how access to an instrument can boost someone’s confidence. Music has always been important to me, so helping others discover that joy feels incredibly meaningful.
I’m also excited to be starting a new role as a campaign volunteer, where I’ll be using my creative skills to help shape future volunteer newsletters and share stories about volunteering across OnFife. I’m really looking forward to developing my skills and being part of something that helps celebrate the amazing people who volunteer here.
Volunteering with OnFife has given me the chance to learn, grow, and give something back – and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
