Wendy wants to be a vet when she grows but as her mum won't let her have a dog she decides to try to grow a pet. She has her imaginary dog called Bathilda Brown, who is quite dribbly but feels she needs a real dog if her dreams of being a vet when she is older are to be fulfilled. Wendy tries different things like growing frogs from tadpoles to catching nits. Will anything work out for her or can she ever persuade her mum?
