Leo has a brilliant imagination and he uses it to daydream about being a heroic Gladiator in a Roman Amphitheatre. In the real world, Leo feels anything but heroic but when he meets a small dog called, Jack Pepper, he gets the opportunity to let everyone believe he is the hero he longs to be. This may seem like a dream come true, but it leads Leo into a lot of trouble.
When disaster strikes, Leo not only finds who his real friends are, but it takes Jack Pepper to help Leo find the true meaning of what being brave really is.
