Cast ON is a free fortnightly craft meet-up for all ages. There’s no need to book – simply come along and join us. Sessions start at 1.30pm.

Join our friendly Cast ON group to learn new techniques, meet fellow wool lovers and enjoy crafting together.
We have a huge range of crochet and knitting patterns available to borrow from the library and, if you’re stuck, someone from our team will be happy to help.
Never picked up a crochet hook before? We also have crochet hooks and wool available so you can practise the basics while enjoying a delicious cuppa from Café Wemyss.
Get Involved
Our Cast ON group has contributed to some amazing displays in the library to celebrate and mark different events throughout the year. From yarn bombing the library for Dementia Awareness Week to creating poppies to be sold in aid of Poppy Scotland, Cast ON is a friendly group of creative makers that always welcomes both novices and experienced fibre artist

Parking: There is parking in front of the building with spaces for Blue Badge holders as well as further free parking at Kirkcaldy train station.
There is ramped access from the entrance, and a lift is available for travel to the upper floor (exhibition spaces along with local and family history). A wheelchair is available for use in the building and sensory support items e.g. ear defenders, fidget toys, emotion fans can also be borrowed.
Accessible toilet facilities are available on both the ground level and first floor, and the Changing Places facility is located on ground level, accessed by a radar key.
Guide and assistance dogs are welcome.
We have worked with AccessAble to make finding out about our facilities easier before your visit. AccessAble’s surveyors visited our venue in person to create a Detailed Access Guide.
