What's ON

We’ve made some big changes in the background and moved over to a new, shiny library system.  From our new online library catalogue you’ll be able to easily see what you have out on loan and renew anything you want to keep a bit longer. Our previous online catalogue is no longer live so if you had it saved as a favourite or bookmark on your device then please change it to new link. You can place reservations for books and see where you are on the waiting list for really popular titles. And it’s just a nice place to browse through all the gorgeous book jackets and pick your next great read.  It’s the best bookshelf in Fife and it’s all free!

At Kelty Library you can select books, use public access PCs and other offerings such as photocopying, printing and collecting hearing aids batteries.

As you would expect, there will be safety measures in place to ensure the wellbeing of our staff and visitors and we encourage you to follow the current Covid guidelines.

Overdue fines

Good news – we are waiving overdue fines on books. You can return your books to any OnFife library, it doesn’t have to be the branch you borrowed them from.

This large, bright and modern, purpose-built library is situated beside other community, health and shopping facilities.  You can reach the library easily by bus, and there’s on-street car parking nearby.

When you get here, you’ll find

  • Books to borrow – to entertain you, to inform you, to listen to.
  • Books to suit all ages, from babies onwards.
  • Information resources – community information and quick reference material.
  • Online information and learning – newspapers, IT courses, careers and jobs.
  • Activities for children and occasional storytimes.
  • Local History resources.
  • Free computers with internet – please note that the computers use the Libre Office package (including Writer, Calc, etc) instead of Microsoft Office. While it is compatible with Microsoft Office, there may be issues converting formatting from Microsoft files, or compatibility with other websites.
  • Kelty Library is operated by Fife Council staff.
