Join in with one of our library-run reading groups in Burntisland, Duloch, Dalgety Bay, Cowdenbeath, Kinghorn, Kirkcaldy Central, Glenwood, Rothes Halls, Methil, Cupar and St Andrews libraries.
Most groups meet in the evening once a month to discuss books that are provided in advance by library staff.
If you would like to join a library-run reading group, please email email@example.com or call 01592 583204. There is an annual charge of £16 for membership.
Reading Groups can take place in a coffee shop, in the staffroom or in your own home - wherever there is a group of readers longing to talk about books.
Our Reading Groups Collections service aims to make starting up and running a reading group easier.
Deciding what to read and how to get enough copies of books for your group can be costly and time-consuming. Subscribe to the Reading Groups Collections service and, in return for the current annual subscription of £33.00 per group, you will be able to borrow 10 copies of one title from the current selection each month. We’ll select a title for you and deliver the books to a library of choice ready for you to collect.
How to subscribe
Pick up a registration form from any library or download the form below. One member of your reading group should complete and sign the registration form on behalf of the group. This person will be the coordinator for your group and the link between your group and the Reading Group Collections Coordinator.
Once completed, the form can be handed in at any library in Fife, or sent to Reading Groups Coordinator, Fife Cultural Trust, Head Office, Iona House, John Smith Business Park, Grantsmuir Road, Kirkcaldy, KY2 6NA. Payment can be made in cash, or by cheque made payable to ‘Fife Cultural Trust’.
When your registration form and payment have been received, the Reading Group Collections coordinator will contact you to arrange delivery of your first collection to your specified library.
You are welcome to request specific titles that are in our collection, and we’ll supply them for your group, if they are available. However, we regret that we are unable to accommodate requests for titles that are out with our collection list.
