A maverick, blind, musical poet who created extraordinary soundscapes in 'slithery time', Moondog has become a cult figure with devotees as diverse as Steve Reich, Jimmy McGriff, Leonard Bernstein, Julie Andrews, the Coen Brothers, Damon Albarn, Jerry Dammers and Mr Scruff.
Tonight we present two sides of Moondog
The jazz expressionistic side presented by the Art Ensemble of Fife with Ruaridh Pattison – Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year 2011.
And the quirky yet more melodic side from albums like the Moondog 2 and H’Art Songs presented by Davie Scott and Duglas T Stewart and friends.
