FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Our standard operating hours are Tuesday to Thursday: 1000-1800
and Friday to Saturday: 1000-2200. However, times can be extended when required, although additional charges may apply.

Adam Smith Theatre is conveniently located in the heart of Kirkcaldy, close to local public transport links and easily accessible by car. The train station is less than a 5-minute walk away.

Parking on-site is limited at Adam Smith Theatre, but we are only a 2-minute walk away from Kirkcaldy train station which has free public parking. Alternatively, Kirkcaldy High Street, which has multiple parking options, is only a 10-minute walk.

Yes. We have a wheelchair accessible elevator. Specially designated wheelchair accessible seats in our auditorium as well as several conveniently located accessible toilets with changing and shower facilities. You can see the accessibility features here.

Yes. We recently upgraded to a brand-new hearing system that guests can use at no extra cost. Please speak to a member of staff at time of booking or on the day for further details.

Yes. We pride ourselves on our green choices. From installing LED lighting in the auditorium to our meeting room note pads that are conscientiously sourced and seasonal local produce used in our kitchen. Our staff uniform is made from responsibly sourced material, and we also offer recycling facilities, ensuring any plastics or similar are washed and re-used throughout the building.

This is dependent on the amount of time you wish to book for, and any equipment hire that might be needed. All these details can be discussed with the venue teams. Contact us today and start your enquiry.

Absolutely. If you are thinking of booking the venue for an event and would like to see the space available before committing, we would be happy to give you a tour. Please contact the venue and make an appointment. Please note that accommodating venue walk-arounds is restricted if an event is running. We do have a Virtual Tour of the Adam Smith Theatre.

Depending on what spaces your conference, meeting or celebration chooses to use, there might be another event on in a different part of the building.

Yes, all our floor plans can be found on the Adam Smith Theatre page but if you require something specific for one of our other venues, please contact your chosen venue directly.

We can provisionally hold a date for you for a short period of time depending on the event and requested date. You can then choose to confirm the event with a deposit or release the provisional hold. Contact your chosen venue to discuss your requirements.

You can get access to the venue at the start of your booking. If you require early access, please let us know and we’ll do our best to help.

Not normally, however this can be discussed with us when you book. If we can, we will. Please also note that our venues cannot be held liable for any lost/damaged items that are stored overnight.

Yes. we’re afraid so. Due to local noise laws, events must come to an end at 12 midnight. If your event is due to finish before 12am, guests must leave by the agreed time. We have lots of lovely neighbours and ask that you please respect them when leaving late at night.

We have our own in-house caterers and also work with a local company for larger events who share the same values as us. We’re all about delivering the best experiences possible with delicious food and drink a given. Check out some sample menus.

Our licence doesn’t allow for you to bring your own. However, we offer lots of choice, and even work with a local wine merchant to source different options and help you discover new favourites.

Ah, now this is one we wish we could say yes to a million times over. At the moment, it’s only service animals that are allowed in our venues.

We don’t have any accommodation but there are several local businesses that offer a range of accommodation options nearby.
