Lochgelly Centre reopens

Following a £2.5m investment by Fife Council, the Lochgelly Centre re-opened on 14th February 2012.

The centre was relaunched with a specially-commissioned rooftop performance by dance group Iron Oxide, speeches by local councillors, and the reading of a new poem by local writer William Hershaw.

Councillor Brian Goodall, Chair of the Housing & Communities Committee cut the ribbon to officially open the centre, and the public were welcomed inside for tours of the new-look venue.

In addition to the main auditorium and studio theatre, the new centre houses the new Jennie Lee Library, plus a state-of-the-art computing suite, new café, and refurbished art rooms and meeting spaces.
