Recorded: 27.9.2005 Venue: Fife Council Archives, Carlton House, MarkinchAttendees: John Ross, Mrs Ella Kinnear, Mima MagnaFacilitator: David ReidValda Hood-Chin founded Scotspeak c. 1993. With the help of volunteers and local groups in Fife the experiences of lots of different people were recorded. The recordings ranged from retired railwaymen in Thornton to unemployed young people in Kelty. Local personalities such as Jimmy Shand, Mary Docherty, Sir George Sharp have recorded, in their own words, memories of the past.The Scotspeak Sound Archive was deposited at the Archive Centre in 2002. Work has been ongoing, documenting and cataloguing artifacts, photographs, master tapes. The Open Day on September 2005 provided the public with an opportunity to check the finished catalogue to discuss topics in the collection and to listen to some of the recordings.Volunteers, Dave Reid facilitated people to record their own memories and experiences and David Matches Indexed Tapes now deposited in the Scotspeak Sound Archive
