Mrs Christine Irvine’s war-time work experiences have been recorded at the request of her daughter, Judith Rowan. Scotspeak facilitated this project. Christine originally from the Isle of Wight came to live in Kinghorn to be nearer to her artist daughter.The interview charts her life as young school girl living on the Isle-of-Wight who was interested in all things to do with aeroplanes (which included making aeroplane models from airfix kits), through to an apprenticeship as a ‘tracer’ – designing and building seaplanes and gliders in the 1930s.
